The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, marking four decades as one of Florida’s leading private grant-making foundations. In celebration, the Foundation will present a $5,000 “Art of Philanthropy” award to a most deserving artist at The 54th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival (WPSAF) in March. “We’re pleased to partner with WPSAF to recognize one of the many talented artists at the Festival and support the arts community that our founder held in such high esteem,” says Foundation President David Odahowski.
The winning entry will best represent philanthropy as defined as the “love of mankind” and can be made through any visual art medium. The WPSAF Panel of Judges and an Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation representative will select the winner. On board the panel of judges are Professor Ed Shay of South Illinois University – Carbondale; Bill Griffith, Program Director at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and Cecily Cullen, Director and Curator at the Center for Visual Art, Metropolitan State – University of Denver.
The winning entry will be purchased by the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation. The artwork will be on permanent display at the Foundation office in Winter Park, Florida.
